US Department of Defense — Annual Summit & Marketing Campaign

GE Additive

Project Scope: Brand Identity & Strategy, Messaging & Framework, Digital Marketing & Web Presence, Content Marketing, Event Activation & On-site Experience, Government Relations

Lead: Alison Wyrick Mendoza; designed, launched, and led during tenure at GE Additive

Year: 2021

Challenge: Accelerate the adoption of advanced manufacturing development across the DoD, educate them on GE Additive’s evolving portfolio, align disparate requirements across services, and position additive manufacturing as a competitive edge for Future Vertical Lift (FVL) suppliers.

Approach:

  • DoD Customer Summit: Planned and executed the first annual customer summit with nearly 100 DoD attendees from all four branches. This included drafting key themes, attendance lists, programming, and post-event surveys.

  • Future Vertical Lift (FVL) Supplier Campaign: Led a targeted campaign to FVL suppliers, developing custom messaging and collateral utilized by both the GE Additive and GE Aviation teams. Our goal was to encourage FVL suppliers bidding on contracts to leverage additive manufacturing for a competitive advantage.

Results: The DoD Summit received exceptional internal and customer feedback, establishing a new annual event for GE Additive. The campaign successfully positioned additive manufacturing as a key competitive differentiator for FVL suppliers.
